Bangladesh Bureau of Education Information and Statistics (BANBEIS) is the only government agency for collecting, storing, distributing and disseminating education information and statistics in the education system of the country. The organization started working as an attached office of the Ministry of Education in the financial year 1976-77. The organization is engaged in continuous development of education sector and develops and delivers educational information nationally and internationally Acknowledged by organizations. In addition to education information and statistical activities, Banbeis is playing an important role in ICT training and ICT education in the field of education in the implementation of Vision 2021 and SDGs of the current government.
Upazila ICT Training and Resource Center for Education has been established in 125 upozilas with the aim of accelerating the activities of Banbeis at the field level to make the development of Bangladesh more dynamic and digital. ICT for teachers with the financial support of Exim Bank under the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Government of Korea These offices are working to promote ICT education in the country's education field, including training and providing e-services at the grassroots level. The Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the Government of Bangladesh inaugurated these centers together on March 2, 2016. Since then the activities of these centers are going on in full swing. About 1 lakh ICT teachers by June 2017 through these centers Received training on the subject. Under the plan to set up centers in all the upazilas of the country, the 2nd phase is currently underway to build UITRCE in 160 upazilas. In the 3rd phase, the work of setting up UITRCE in all the remaining Upozila of the country will be completed.
The manpower recruitment process has been completed by creating the posts of one Assistant Programmer, one Computer Operator, one Lab Assistant, one Cleaner and one Security Guard in UITRCE Centre. Presently all the posts in UITRCE are in revenue sector.
Every teacher needs to be trained and skilled in ICT as mentioned in ICT Policy 2009. Besides, it has been said to provide access to information facilities to all the citizens of the country.
This center is currently a unique upazila level structure, 2 storey building with 4 storey foundation. Our office continues to play a very important role in building skilled human resources and enhancing the quality of ICT education in Manda Upazila through training in the field of ICT.
By playing an important role in the education and ICT sector, these "Upazila ICT Training and Resource Centers for Education (UITRCE)" are working at the grassroots level to implement the Government's Vision - 2021, Sustainable Development Goals - 2030 (SDGs) and Action Plan - 2041. All in all these UITRCE centers can contribute significantly in building Sonar Bangla.
